Karen Holyfield is her name, and Skyward is her game!
Karen joins us from Gilmer ISD and she’s been in school business for 17 years, with 15 of those years being in PEIMS. She is a self-proclaimed PEIMS Queen and loves it and loves working in Skyward software. She has been blessed to work in two districts that are Skyward based and has worked with both Business and Student. Karen is currently working as the Director of PEIMS and Database Analyst at her district, and previously as the PEIMS Coordinator for Mabank ISD.
Karen is a self-proclaimed, “absolute data nerd” and has been through a few audits with flying colors. She has learned a lot and loves to share that knowledge with anyone and everyone. She loves coming to TSUG not only to teach others but to also learn. In 15 years of attending TSUG, she has never walked away having not learned something valuable or failed to make contacts with others around the state. If you are part of her Google Groups PEIMS Skynet list, you know she is the beacon of light in the PEIMS community around the state of Texas.
Karen is married to Harold Holyfield, and the couple has 6 awesome kids. Their first set of fraternal twin girls are Kaitlyn and Kourtney, 28 years old, and their second set of identical twin girls, Madison and Meagan are both 26. Their surviving child from a third set of twin girls, Peighton is 24. The couple also has an adopted son, (they couldn’t have boys, so Karent indicates they, “bought one:), and he is their great nephew that they adopted at 4 months old. His name is Luke and he is 18 years old. All of the Holyfield’s girls are now out of college, out of the house, with a couple being married and currently living their best lives. Their son is a senior at Gilmer High School, and he loves wasting gas, playing football, powerlifting, dancing to the beat of his own drum, and of course, girls!
